Colour added
So this is the first go at a colour scheme... I changed the BG and that right (I think I earlier said it was the left) hand. I've been smashng random texture brushes over the image to try to achieve a painty feel, as though the bg and the figure blend a little. The inner border hides the effect a little bit. It's mostly in the lower right corner but there's also some on the right sleeve trailing towards the light.
Any suggestions?

I prefer the non coloured version.
Not helpful, I know.
I'm gonna go ahead and not be helpful too. I am not a fan of this version either.
Actually, as a criticism of both I find the bright spot at the top left corner distracts from the drawing of your dad...it might just be me, but i can't stop staring at it instead of the drawing.
Gah! The bleeding! It won't stop! Graah!
So I'm trying to keep some of the colour (I'm partial to the rosy face) but bronze out some of the greens in the coat. Was there something specific you like about the sepia version or just that it is sepia? And I agree on the light spot. I darkened it quite a bit in a newer version to keep the focus on the face.
Tx for the comments!
